Modern Masters was the first USA manufacturer of acrylic Venetian Plaster, which has been used by professional applicators and do-it-yourselfers on thousands of projects across North America. Venetian Plaster is a finishing technique using thin layers of plaster applied with a spatula or trowel and then burnished to create a smooth surface with the illusion of depth and texture. You can control the sheen level of the finish by simply sanding and burnishing until the desired sheen is obtained. The more you burnish, the more translucent the finish becomes, re-creating the translucency found in real marble. The finish becomes so smooth it even feels like real marble. By varying the color, application technique and the amount of burnishing, other finishes can be created including stone, worn leather and suede.
Modern Masters tintable acrylic-plaster base allows for creating light-pastel to deep-tone colors with its 2 different bases. This Venetian Plaster is untinted so the color options are limitless. Simply choose a color from your favorite paint dealer's fan deck and have it tinted at Select Source. Because Venetian Plaster is a polished plaster with translucency and depth, the color chosen will not match exactly, but the highs and lows will be in the same "family" of color.
